Is The Kenwood Chef Titanium KMC010 Worth It?

Choosing a food mixer to help prepare meals everyday can be a bit of a challenge with the choice that is available. Beyond the everyday preparation, many customers want a food mixer that will rise to those special occasions when there is something to celebrate, friends coming round or a batch of supplies for the school summer fayre.

This Kenwood Chef Titanium KMC010 costs nearly £400 but what do you get for your money? Are you just paying for the brand or is this stand mixer really worth the price tag?

This review will help you decide if this is the right stand mixer for you. Here we will talk about the essential points regarding the Kenwood KMC010 food mixer and how it compares to others.

What Makes This One Different To The Other Models?

This model in the Kenwood Chef Range is equipped with a 1400W motor that is slightly less powerful than the Major Titanium KMM020. This is one of two differences between the two models. The other is the difference in bowl size. This one has the same sized 4.6 Litre bowl size as the other models, whereas the KMM020 has a larger 6.7 Litre bowl.

The Kenwood Chef Titanium KMC010 comes with a K-Beater, Whisk, Dough Hook and Flexi Beater, All of these bowl tools are made from Stainless Steel. They are far more hard wearing than the tools that come with the Classic Chef KM336 and Chef Premier KMC570.

Are There Any Added Extras?

The food processor is an added extra in the Titanium range that isn’t available for the models below it. It has been recently improved, though it was a good performer before. If you are thinking about a food processor as well, then this model or the one above may be the answer. The food processor has a bowl made from a dishwasher-safe and shatterproof material called Tritan™. It is a decent size and comes with discs for fine and course grating, thin and thick slicing and julienne and rasping. It makes use of the medium power supply on top of the mixer.

The silver sheen finish of the Kenwood Chef Titanium KMC010 looks great (in our opinion) and almost demands to be on display. In addition to the three standard Kenwood Chef power outlets, there is an additional medium outlet. This is only available with the Titanium models at the higher end of the Kenwood Chef range. It can be found at the top of the machine in the centre position. There is a Juicer available for this power outlet in addition to the supplied food processor.

Fantastic To Make Cakes Or Pastry

If you already have a Kenwood Chef, you’ll know how long they last, and that build quality is something they have managed to retain over the years.

The attachments from your older model, even if it was bought several years ago, may well work with the Kenwood Chef Titanium KMC010. Our advice is to hold on to your existing attachments and try them out before discarding them.

The Patisserie Princess is one of many customers that have said how pleased they are with their KMC010.

I bought this Kenwood a few months ago and I haven’t looked back. It’s fantastic to make cakes or pastry … This is a solid piece of equipment which will last for years. It’s well finished and looks great.

Give Me An Idea Of It’s Capacity

This Kenwood Chef can mix 2.73kg of cake or handle 12 egg whites in a single sitting. The results with the Dough Hook are particularly impressive. It can mix 2.2kg of dough. Now I love bread so maybe I am a little biased so I thought I’d leave it to the Patisserie Princess for her view on making bread with this Kenwood Chef.

I use it a couple of days a week to make bread dough. I have used a breadmaker for years but kneading the dough in the Kenwood and then baking in the oven makes the best bread by far.

There is a plethora of attachments that can be bought for it, and they will allow you to make ice-cream, churn out pasta of various shapes, grind nuts and beans or just about anything that takes your fancy. This makes the Kenwood Chef range very versatile.

Nothing is perfect. Or Is It?

This model KMC010 supersedes the KM010 model which is still available. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with any warranty. This one is the newer model and you should make sure you get this rather than the KM010

The first thing you should do is adjust the height of your bowl tools. The instructions and spanner come with the mixer and it is quite easy to do. If you don’t then you might end up with problems. One problem might be difficulty mixing small quantities like a 2 egg meringue. It will get lost in the bowl and the Whisk doesn’t get to work on it as well.

This is a fairly sturdy and reasonably quiet stand mixer. It weighs 7.7kg so you probably don’t want to plan on moving it around a lot. Think about where it is going to live. Personally, I think it needs to be out on show all the time

Absolutely the best item I’ve bought for the kitchen. I have bought loads of kitchen gadgets in the past and most of them end up in cupboards, in the shed or given away to friends. This item sits proudly on our worktop and is used most days from making bread, pizza dough, cakes and with the optional ice cream maker it makes the ideal gadget.
